October 30, 2019, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM @ Greenwich Audubon
It's unfortunate that it took a tragic spill of nearly 40,000 gallons of firefighting foam into the Farmington River for PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) contamination to finally get some attention in Connecticut. They have been found almost everywhere (food packaging, electronics, fabric, furniture, carpeting, clothing, non-stick cookware, fire-fighting foam and even plants and drinking water). Do we have them in Greenwich? This program will address this and other questions of how to protect your family against these toxic chemicals.
Guest speakers are Anne Hulick, CT Director of Clean Water Action and Christopher Perkins, Laboratory Director at the Center of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, Institute of the Environment, UConn.
Sponsored by Greenwich Audubon and Conservation Commission
