PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman
WHEREAS, Mary Marino Schomp was born, January 16, 1921, to John and Domenica Minniti Marino. She is the youngest of eight children. Her siblings composed of two sisters; Sadie Petise and Frances Pennella and five brothers; Joseph, Domenick, Paul, Anthony and James Marino; and
WHEREAS, Mary attended the Greenwich Public Schools and married Earl Schomp. Mary & Earl raised four daughters; MaryAnn, Minnie, Paula and Georgeann; and a son, Earl John. Mary has lived at 12 Arther Street for 100 years; and
WHEREAS, Mary has nine grandchildren (MaryAnn) Laura & Michael; (Minnie) Tracy, Brian & Nicole; (Paula) Frankie & Jennifer; (Georgeann) Gregory and (Earl) Kelly; 12 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren with one more on the way; and
WHEREAS, Mary has been a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Byram and an active member of the Byram Seniors, Glenville Seniors and AARP. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends and doing crossword puzzles; and
WHEREAS, Mary Marino Schomp is celebrating her 100th Birthday on Saturday, January 16, 2021 with her devoted family. On behalf of all her family, friends and Greenwich community, Mary is extended birthday wishes and blessings for many more years of happiness and good health.
NOW, THEREFORE, l, Fred Camillo, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do hereby proclaim Friday, January 15, 2021 as
Mary Marino Schomp Day
in the Town of Greenwich and urge all citizens to join me in wishing Mary Marino Schomp a very happy 100th birthday! Congratulations and best wishes!
