GREENWICH — Greenwich will again offer relief for property tax payments that are due Jan. 1 — just as it did for the summer payments.
By an executive order signed Wednesday, Gov. Ned Lamont said municipalities should put forth either a deferment program or lower interest rates on late payments for residents and businesses that owe property taxes.
A similar order was made earlier in the year due to the economic impact of the coronavirus.
In Greenwich, Tax Collector Heather Smeriglio put a deferment program in place that gave taxpayers 90 additional days to make their property tax payments.
