Sewer Rehabilitation Notice

Update for the week of December 21, 2020

The Department of Public Works Sewer Division is performing sewer rehabilitation work throughout Town.  This work involves rehabilitating Town sanitary sewer mains and sanitary sewer manhole structures utilizing a variety of techniques.  The purpose of this work is to provide many continued years of service life to the critical sewer infrastructure that serves the community.  The Town proactively works to perform sewer rehabilitation work annually to maintain the service life of our sewer infrastructure and limit the potential for pipe failures, breaks, leaks, etc.    

 

WHO IS PERFORMING THE WORK?

The Contractor performing the work is Green Mountain Pipeline Services Inc. and the Engineering Consultant who is assisting in managing the field activities is CDM Smith.  

Work will be proceeding throughout areas around Town and DPW will do their best to provide weekly updates on our website of the proposed areas to be worked on.  

The Contractor performing the work for DPW anticipates the following schedule (weather dependent).  

 

WHERE, WHEN and WHAT?

Based on the current schedule, installation of cured in place (CIPP) pipe liners are planned to be installed in the following roads the week of December 21, 2020

  • Butler Street
  • North Crossway
  • Chapel Street
  • Loughlin Avenue
  • Old Field Point Road

 

Normal hours of work will be between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.    Work is anticipated to occur Monday thru Wednesday.  No work is scheduled for Christmas Eve or Christmas. However, work is subject to change due to weather impacts and any unforeseen conditions.    

 

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

Property owners whose sanitary sewer service will be temporarily impacted have been notified via separate notices left in their doors.  

For anyone traveling in these areas, lease give yourself more time when traveling this area and also please detour around the work zone, where possible. 

There will be some delays and periods where traffic may not be able to pass.  

 We will do our best to minimize the impact to residents and commuters during this time and we appreciate your cooperation.
