PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman
WHEREAS, On June 3, 2002, Elaine accepted a temporary job with the Town of Greenwich, before becoming a full-time employee as a Clerical Assistant in the Department of Public Works in September of that year. She then worked in the Department of Parks and Recreation and in Human Resources at the Board of Education; and
WHEREAS, In 2007, Elaine took a position with the Finance Department as an Executive Assistant to the Comptroller, remaining there for 13 years. In addition to assisting the Comptroller, Elaine supported the Board of Estimate and Taxation (BET), working to finalize the BET committee and board meeting agendas and packets, and posting the committee and board meeting minutes on the Town website; and
WHEREAS, One of Elaine’s priorities in supporting the BET was to make information more accessible by working with the Town’s Information Technology and Law departments to allow
compliance with the Freedom of Information Act; and
WHEREAS, During the recent COVID-19 pandemic, Elaine was instrumental in making certain the BET committee and board meetings transitioned to the Zoom platform; and
WHEREAS, Elaine has always been a strong supporter of the Town of Greenwich and served, among other duties, as a coordinator of the collection of toys for the Town’s Toys-for-Tots toy drive during the holiday season; and
WHEREAS, On behalf of the entire BET and the Town, we thank Elaine for her loyalty to the Town of Greenwich for the past 18 years and wish her much happiness as she begins this exciting new chapter in her life with her husband, her children, grandchildren and her two dogs.
NOW, THEREFORE, l, Fred Camillo, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do
hereby proclaim Tuesday, September 29, 2020 as
Elaine Brown Day
in the Town of Greenwich and urge all citizens and employees to join me in congratulating Elaine on an outstanding career and for her dedication and service to the Town of Greenwich.
