[ARCHIVED] Rent Rebate Program

Application filing period from April 1st 2020 through

October 1st 2020

The Greenwich Department of Human Services is currently accepting application for the State of CT Rent Rebate Program.

State law provides a program for renters who are elderly (65 years of age or older) or disabled and whose annual incomes do not exceed certain limits. Under this program, a check is directly remitted to an approved applicant by the State. The check represents a partial refund of rental and utility payments. Persons renting an apartment, cooperative housing, congregate living or even leasing a mobile home space may be eligible.

The rebate represents the previous rental year which is 2019, not the current year.

Rent Rebates can be up to $900.00 for married couples and $700.00 for unmarried applicants.

Maximum allowable income in 2019 to qualify:

Single person - $37,000  Married Couple - $45.100

Required Documents / Verifications:

Proof of all income from all sources received in 2019 – Social security benefits, pension, wages, dividends, interest and any other income. (Full 12 months must be provided)
