The Housing Authority of the town of Greenwich has worked for years to transform affordable housing.
And that effort is not limited to projects that create new housing units in town — it also extends to the organization itself.
The housing authority now has a new name and will now be known as Greenwich Communities. The change became official Sept. 8 when First Selectman Fred Camillo declared it Greenwich Communities Day at a ceremony at the new townhouses in Armstrong Court.
The renaming and rebranding to “a nicer name, a beautiful name,” Camillo said, was appropriate on the heels of what he called “arguably the most successful run that the Housing Authority has had.” He specifically noted the work of Executive Director Anthony Johnson and Board of Commissioners Chair Sam Romeo.
