PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman
WHEREAS, Dr. Barry has served the Town of Greenwich for the past 10 years as the Commissioner of the Department of Human Services. He earned a Master’s degree in Social Work
and a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from St. Louis University. He has over 25 years of healthcare administration experience mainly in the behavioral health field and joined the Greenwich Department of Human Services as Commissioner in 2010; and
WHEREAS, He has in his 10 years of stewardship consistently delivered a budget within the Town of Greenwich guidelines and has consistently had results that were below or met those guidelines; and
WHEREAS, In 2015, Dr. Barry improved the Department’s infrastructure with the upgrade and operation of the Client Track software to increase the data acquisition and accumulation of and for our clients; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Barry restructured the Department to separate Case Management and Admissions/ Applications units to better serve our clients; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Barry led a Communications Quality and Improvement (CQI) project within DHS; and
WHEREAS, In 2017, Dr. Barry established the DHS Fund that streamlined donations to programs within our Department like Campership, Community Gifts, BANC after school, and GYCP.
NOW, THEREFORE, l, Fred Camillo, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do
hereby proclaim August 28, 2020 as
Dr. Alan Barry Day
in the Town of Greenwich and urge all citizens to join me in celebrating and in recognizing Dr. Barry’s contributions to our Town and in wishing him well in his retirement and future endeavors.
