[ARCHIVED] Defined Benefit Pension Plan- Coronavirus COVID-19 Update

As more and more people begin to heed the CDC warnings to avoid crowds and self-quarantine when possible, we have prepared the following to assist you in utilizing our website and call center.

If you haven’t already registered with Empower online, you will first have to authenticate your identity, please see instructions here under Board Documents.

Once registered you can access the Empower website at www.empower-retirement.com/participant. This will allow you to run estimates, print and upload paperwork, update beneficiary and pension payment direct deposit and tax withholding information.

In addition, you can call Empower at 1-800-701-8255 and select 0 to speak to a representative. Specify that you are calling regarding your Town of Greenwich Defined Benefit Pension Plan.

We are also working closely with the Plan providers regarding all day to day operations to ensure they run smoothly, including processing new retirements and ensuring payments to our retirees and beneficiaries are made on schedule.

Any necessary further updates will be posted in this location.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, you can contact Ken Berkson (Kenneth.berkson@greenwichct.org; (203) 622-7778) or Daniela Barcello (Daniela.Barcello@greenwichct.org) (203) 622-6442). E-mail would be the best method of contacting us.
