PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman
WHEREAS, We celebrate and thank Ted Gilman for his 43 years of service to the Town of Greenwich at the Greenwich Audubon Center; and
WHEREAS, We appreciate Ted’s passion, kindness, knowledge and contagious excitement for the natural world which he shared with so many; and
WHEREAS, We acknowledge four generations of people whom Ted has mentored in the field of environmental education and conservation through his work at the Greenwich Audubon Center; and
WHEREAS, We commemorate Ted’s many achievements in bringing nature to all people regardless of age and abilities, protecting Greenwich’s most valuable natural treasures and leading the way in research on birds and other wildlife; and
WHEREAS, We wish Ted many more years of adventure and discovery in the natural world as he begins his retirement; and
WHEREAS, We look towards a future where we will continue to protect and share the natural world with Ted’s caring spirit throughout the Town of Greenwich.
NOW, THEREFORE, l, FRED CAMILLO, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do hereby proclaim Saturday, January 18, 2020 as
Nature Education Day
in honor of Ted Gilman in the Town of Greenwich and urge all our citizens to join me in protecting and sharing
the natural world with future generations. We wish Mr. Gilman many more yearsof health and happiness and thank him for his many years of dedicated service.
