December 9 designated as Dean Goss Day

PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman 

WHEREAS, Dean Goss joined the RTM in January 1962. He will have served just over 39 years when he steps down from the RTM at the end of December 2019. Throughout his years of service,
he served on the Health, Legislative & Rules and Sewer committees. He served on the first Building Committee after the Building and Sewer departments consolidated with the Department of Public Works; and

WHEREAS, Dean graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and from the University of Delaware with a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering. He was a Professor at the New York Institute of Technology from the 1970s to the 1990s and was Chairman of the Architecture Department for 15 years; and

WHEREAS, Dean used his professional expertise and was instrumental in 10 school building projects, serving on the building committees for: Parkway; Glenville; North Street; North Mianus; Old Greenwich; Riverside; Cos Cob; Dundee; Eastern Middle and Central Middle schools; and

WHEREAS, Dean and his wife Ruth Yanosik of Greenwich were married for 62 years and they had four children: Wendy, Judy, Dean C. and Martha.

NOW, THEREFORE, l, Fred Camillo, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do
hereby proclaim Monday, December 9, 2019 as
Dean Goss Day 

in the Town of Greenwich and urge all our citizens to join me in applauding Mr. Goss’ service to the Town and in wishing him many more years of health and happiness.
