October 29 designated as Dr. James A. Brunetti Day

                                        PROCLAMATION from Peter J. Tesei, First Selectman

 

WHEREAS,     Dr. James A. Brunetti, a second generation Greenwich resident, has been an active member of the medical community since his medical residency at Greenwich Hospital from 1994-1997; and

WHEREAS,     Dr. Brunetti, in partnership with Francis X. Walsh, MD, had a thriving primary care practice in Greenwich for 18 years, where a loyal, growing population of patients sought his care; and

WHEREAS,     In 2001, Greenwich Hospital awarded Dr. Brunetti the prestigious Partner in Care Award in honor of his compassionate bedside manner with patients and families. Dr. Brunetti was the recipient of the Patient's Choice Award in 2009, 2010 and 2011, an award conferred on the top 10% of physicians. He was also the Father Rufin Compassionate Care Award

recipient in 2011, an award given by the Bishop of Fairfield County, CT; and

WHEREAS,     Dr. Brunetti is now a sole practitioner of internal medicine, dedicated to a patient-centered philosophy, bounded by mutual trust He meets patients where they reside, and makes house calls and nursing home visits; and

WHEREAS,     Grateful patients of Dr. Brunetti's have generously donated to Greenwich Hospital in his name. On October 29, 2019, Greenwich Hospital will honor Dr. Brunetti along with the Lindemann family, donors who have provided funds for the refurbishment of the family waiting room in the intensive care unit. The plaque reads "Given in honor of Dr. James A. Brunetti for families served in the Medical/Surgical ICU Unit. The Lindemann Family;" and

WHEREAS,     Greenwich Hospital offers its sincerest thanks in appreciation of his continued service, compassion and dedication to the well-being of our community.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PETER J. TESEI, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do

hereby proclaim October 29, 2019 as

DR. JAMES  A. BRUNETTI DAY

 

in the Town of Greenwich and encourage all our citizens to join me in applauding Dr. Brunetti's many years of dedication and service to the Town and in wishing him many more years of health and happiness.
