October 14 designated as Peter J. Tesei Day

PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, Peter J. Tesei, a lifelong Greenwich resident, is serving an historic sixth term as First Selectman; and

WHEREAS, During his 12-year stewardship, the Town has consistently and effectively improved its infrastructure through strategic capital planning and investments; and

WHEREAS, He was the youngest member in the history of the Representative Town Meeting, having been elected to that body in November 1987 at the age of 18; and

WHEREAS, He moved to the Board of Estimate and Taxation in 1997 where he served for 10 years, including six as Chairman of the Budget Committee; and

WHEREAS, In addition to serving in Greenwich's government, Mr. Tesei has served on numerous boards and commissions of not-for-profits in the Town; and

WHEREAS, Peter represents the best values and integrity brought to Greenwich by his ancestors who immigrated from the Village of Rose, Province of Calabria in the Country of Italy In the 1880s;

NOW, THEREFORE, l, JOHN F. TONER, SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do hereby proclaim Monday, October 14, 2019 to be;

PETER J. TESEI DAY

in the Town of Greenwich and urge all citizens to applaud Peter for all his dedicated work on our behalf and his appointment as the Honoree of the 32 nd Anniversary Columbus Day Celebration of

The St. Lawrence Society.
