STAMFORD — Environmentalists, boaters and residents of the shoreline in Stamford and Greenwich came out in force Monday afternoon to criticize a proposal to build a marine storage facility off Stamford, a short distance from popular and busy recreational areas.

More than 100 people came to an informational meeting at the Stamford Government Center to oppose the plan.
