GREENWICH — Greenwich is developing a policy designed to support people with disabilities who attend town-led events and who do business with the town.
Officials and advocates for people with special needs are crafting rules to ensure town departments comply with Title II of the Americans With Disabilities Act, a section that protects individuals from discrimination in services, programs and activities provided by state and local governments.
“The new language is not just an act of legal compliance, rather, it is part of our philosophy that government works for everyone,” said Ben Branyan, town administrator, who’s seeking feedback from Greenwich workers on the draft policy.
