Skip the Straw, a screening of 'Straws' at Greenwich Library

Straws Film Every day in the U.S., millions of non-recyclable plastic straws are used once and tossed, ending up in landfills and incinerators, littering streets & polluting waterways and beaches. Actor Tim Robbins narrates a colorful history of straw use, and marine researchers, citizen activists and business owners discuss how they're making a sea of change ...one plastic straw at a time.

Discover how students can make a difference in Greenwich and beyond. Mia Nixon will share her adventures with 5 Gyres & EarthEcho International, and Jack Egan of Surfrider Connecticut will inspire action against plastic pollution. Hear from student change makers about local school initiatives.
