PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman
WHEREAS, Wilfred M. Cameron loyally served on the Greenwich Shellfish Commission for twenty-two years and helped manage, protect, propagate and conserve recreational and commercial shellfish resources; and
WHEREAS, Wilfred M. Cameron devoted his time, talent and treasure in supporting the Commission's mission to preserve, restore and enhance the shellfish habitat and surrounding water; and
WHEREAS, Wilfred M. Cameron worked to maintain open lines of communication with State and local agencies concerning berths, jetties, seawalls, revetments, mooring placements, and drainage projects that could impact shellfish beds; and
WHEREAS, Wilfred M. Cameron contributed to the preparation of a Town Shellfish Management Plan, and enforced to regulate shellfishing and the issuance of permits; and
WHEREAS, Wilfred M. Cameron contributed to providing recreation and enjoyment to many Greenwich citizens through shellfishing.
NOW, THEREFORE, l, Fred Camillo, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do
hereby proclaim November 4, 2023 as
Wilfred M. Cameron Day
in the Town of Greenwich and urge all residents to join me in recognizing and thanking Wilfred for his many years of dedicated service to our community.
