PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman
WHEREAS, The Glenville Volunteer Fire Company established the David N. Theis Award for Outstanding Service to the Community to honor the memory of our dear friend and commend those who have gone above and beyond helping the community of Greenwich; and
WHEREAS, Mary Hull has been a tireless volunteer in Greenwich for decades, giving her time and hard work on behalf of numerous organizations and she has exemplified the spirit of Dave Theis, making her an ideal recipient of this award; and
WHEREAS, Mary has lived in Greenwich for much of her life and raised a family here along with her late husband Lloyd, setting an example along the way for others by selflessly volunteering her time to help make Greenwich and even better place to live; and
WHEREAS, Mary has truly helped put the “green” in Greenwich as a driving force behind Greenwich Green and Clean, an organization that has done so much to not only beautify our Town but maintain it through community cleanups and advocacy as well as through educating Greenwich’s public and private school students about the environment and climate change; and
WHEREAS, Mary has shared her lifetime of wisdom and expertise with many other organizations in Greenwich, helping them thrive, and demonstrating for all to see how the social fabric of Greenwich is woven by its dedicated volunteers; and
WHEREAS, Mary represents what is best about Greenwich and has demonstrated the kind of community spirit and love of our Town that also inspired David Theis.
NOW, THEREFORE, l, Fred Camillo, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do
hereby proclaim October 6, 2023 as
Mary Hull Day
in the Town of Greenwich and urge all residents to join me in recognizing all of Mary’s contributions as she is honored with the ninth annual David N. Theis Award for Outstanding Service to the Community.
