PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman
WHEREAS, The Town of Greenwich recognizes the importance of highlighting the accomplishments and bestowing honor on residents who are committed to excellence and consistently strive to serve and improve our community by devoting their time to assisting others and enriching our community; and
WHEREAS, Jan and Ann DuBois are an extraordinary example of residents who have committed themselves to improving the schools, libraries, natural resources, waterways, and healthcare of Greenwich through service to the Indian Spring Forest, the local Housing Authority, our library, schools and colleges; and
WHEREAS, Ann and Jan have generously applied their experience, strength, and wisdom to a myriad of initiatives aimed at improving the lives of children and adults in the Town of Greenwich and heightening awareness of critical services provided by nonprofits across all sections; and
WHEREAS, Under Jan’s leadership as Chairman of the local housing authority, he provided a new vision for the preservation and responsible development of our land and the role it plays in our community’s welfare. And in keeping with Jan and Ann’s passion for kayaking, he became counsel to the Indian Harbor Yacht Club and a founding member of the First Friday Group. Jan is also director of his branch of the English Speaking Union. His tireless efforts are joint endeavors with Ann his intellectual and life partner; and
WHEREAS, Jan and Ann have made the Greenwich community a more viable resource for the people of every circumstance across our community and these enduring accomplishments would not be possible without the inestimable contributions of citizens like these two individuals who constitute a priceless resource and treasure in our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, l, Fred Camillo, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do
hereby proclaim October 5, 2023 as
Jan & Ann DuBois Day
in the Town of Greenwich and urge every resident to take this opportunity to honor them for their service to our community and celebrate their lasting accomplishments and contributions.
