PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman
WHEREAS, every year since 2016, the Greenwich Sentinel Foundation has honored an outstanding Greenwich individual who embodies the spirit of a “Sentinel” with its Greenwich Sentinel Award and in 2023 that honor is being bestowed upon Frank J. Gaudio, the president and CEO of the First Bank of Greenwich and a pillar of the Greenwich community; and
WHEREAS, Frank and his dedicated team at the bank work tirelessly to support local businesses by showing unwavering commitment to service above self, unequaled accessibility to all by providing exceptional care for people regardless of the size of their account and making a truly extraordinary effort to ensure the survival of Greenwich’s small businesses even when it means working until 2 a.m. during a time of crisis such as the COVID-19 pandemic; and
WHEREAS, Frank has brought joy, humor and creativity to his work, as evidenced by his distinctive billboard ads that reflect his unique approach to banking; and
WHEREAS, through the challenges and trials of his career, Frank has consistently demonstrated resilience, resourcefulness and an ability to adapt and grow while still nurturing strong relationships with mentors and colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Frank’s ability to enrich the world around him comes as naturally as he breathes with boundless energy and an innate capacity to inspire joy in those he encounters, which is a testament to the love and joy inherent in his name, thanks to the influence of his upbringing in a warm and caring Italian family surrounded by strong women and the guidance of impactful mentors; and
WHEREAS, even in the face of personal accolades, Frank remains humble and appreciative, valuing the everyday interactions and gratitude of people over formal awards, which only further exemplifies his character.
