Could the Town of Greenwich be the setting for the type of major financial summit that takes place yearly in Davos, Switzerland?
That's the plan, according to Bruce McGuire, president of the Connecticut Hedge Fund Association and co-founder of the inaugural Greenwich Economic Conference, held Thursday and Friday, Nov. 15 and 16, at the Delamar hotel. Well-known financial figures including Ray Dalio of Bridgewater Associates in Westport and Paul Tudor Jones II of Tudor Investment Corp. in Stamford were in attendance.
“Many of you in here this room are accustomed to jetting off to Davos (Switzerland) for the World Economic Forum, going to L.A., for the Milken Institute,” said McGuire. “Our vision is to join that illustrious grouping and to create an annual event where the world comes to visit us.”
