PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman
WHEREAS, Patrick Taylor is the Choral Director and Music Program Associate at Greenwich High School and has enriched the lives of thousands of Greenwich children and our community; and
WHEREAS, Patrick has taught thousands of Greenwich children to sing in high school, college, conservatories, and life and his students have continued their choral studies at many of the finest universities and conservatories in our country including the Julliard School, Eastman School of Music, Curtis Institute of Music, and Boston Conservatory at Berklee; and
WHEREAS, Patrick inspired, motivated, and encouraged many GHS students to become elementary and secondary school music teachers who are teaching the next generation of Connecticut youth; and
WHEREAS, Patrick was an instrumental team member in the design, construction, and programming of the world-class Greenwich High School Music Instructional Space and Auditorium Project; and
WHEREAS, Patrick has conducted more than 100 concerts, giving his students real concert performance experience and winning numerous state and national competitions and "Mr. Taylor's Annual Holiday Concert" is a staple of the Greenwich music community that has become an annual alumni event culminating in the singing of Handel's Hallelujah.
NOW, THEREFORE, l, Fred Camillo, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do
hereby proclaim May 24, 2023 as
Patrick Taylor Music Education Day
in the Town of Greenwich and urge all citizens to join me in celebrating and in recognizing Patrick’s service and dedication to our Town.
