PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman
WHEREAS, For the past 50 years, Judith Raphael has worked for the Abilis community; and
WHEREAS, Judith has been an advocate for people with disabilities for most of her life; and
WHEREAS, Abilis is a non-profit 501(c)3 that provides services and support for more than 800 people with special needs throughout Fairfield County, and is intertwined in the communities it serves, including Greenwich; and
WHEREAS, Judith has ensured solid economics for 50 years at Abilis, allowing the non-profit to do more to support all of the people it serves, allowing them to get care and opportunities they might not be able to get elsewhere; and
WHEREAS, All non-profit organizations need to have a person in the position of Finance Director to monitor and plan for the future, making Judith one of the most critical people in Abilis’ operations; and
WHEREAS, Judith has participated in the development and implementation of strategies over the past decade, benefitting Abilis in the present and setting it up for a strong future; and
WHEREAS, We are so thankful for the hard work and dedication Judith provides to Abilis.
NOW, THEREFORE, l, Fred Camillo, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do
hereby proclaim June 7, 2023 as
Judith Raphael Day
in the Town of Greenwich and urge all citizens to join me in celebrating and recognizing Judith’s 50 years of service and dedication to the Abilis community and for improving the lives of those living with disabilities.
