PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman
WHEREAS, Peter Jay Crumbine has been a Greenwich resident with his wife Bea for 42 years and during that time he has dedicated his life to selflessly volunteering and serving the community to help make Greenwich an even better place to live; and
WHEREAS, Peter graduated Magna Cum Laude from Dartmouth College with a degree in Business Administration and received a Master’s in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University; and
WHEREAS, His career took him around the world with Mobil Oil Corporation and then to American firms like Lockheed Missiles and Space Co., Amerada Hess Corporation, and Sempra Trading in Stamford; and
WHEREAS, Peter served five terms as a member of Greenwich’s Board of Selectmen from 1999-2009 and was also a member of the Representative Town Meeting from 1992-1995 and the Board of Estimate and Taxation from 1996-1999; and
WHEREAS, After his time as a Selectman, Peter, an avid swimmer and athlete, continued to give back through his own volunteer work, and by serving on the Selectman’s Nominations Advisory Committee he made sure other volunteers like him were able to participate on our boards, commissions and committees; and
WHEREAS, Peter and his wife Bea have been icons of this community, setting examples for everyone of how people can make a difference in their hometowns and were awarded the David N. Theis Award for Outstanding Service to the Community by the Glenville Volunteer Fire Department in 2019 for their decades of work.
NOW, THEREFORE, l, FRED CAMILLO, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do
hereby proclaim Tuesday, April 25, 2023 as
Peter Crumbine Day
in the Town of Greenwich and urge all citizens to join me in celebrating and in recognizing Peter’s service and dedication to our Town.
