PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman
WHEREAS, The Town of Greenwich recognizes the importance of acknowledging and bestowing honor on community leaders who are committed to excellence and consistently strive to serve and improve our community by devoting their time and creativity to improving the lives of others; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Paul F. Mueller is an extraordinary example of these qualities, as he has served with distinction for the past twenty-seven years as Music Director of the Greenwich Choral Society, a volunteer organization dedicated to excellence in the presentation of choral music; and
WHEREAS, As Music Director, Dr. Mueller has distinguished himself as a preeminent musician, educator and leader, consistently exploring and interpreting the beauty and influence of choral music and striving to enrich our community’s appreciation of music through performances of the highest quality and educational programs that seek to nurture future singers and audiences alike; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Mueller has led the Greenwich Choral Society abroad in performances in Italy, France, Czech Republic, Austria and Bulgaria, among other destinations, to great acclaim; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Mueller has devoted extraordinary effort to nurturing the Greenwich Choral Society through the COVID 19 Pandemic, devising creative solutions for conducting online rehearsals, creating virtual concerts and guiding choristers and audiences in the complex process of returning to live choral concerts, literally keeping the Greenwich Choral Society alive, and making it a more visible and viable resource for the arts community in the Town.
NOW, THEREFORE, l, FRED CAMILLO, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do
hereby proclaim April 22, 2023 as
Paul F. Mueller Day
in the Town of Greenwich and urge every resident to take this opportunity to honor him for his 27 years of service to our community and celebrate his lasting accomplishments and contributions as Music Director of the Greenwich Choral Society.
