The Greenwich Police Department is now accepting applications for the Spring 2023 Citizen’s Police Academy Class. The Citizen’s Police Academy is a program that provides Greenwich residents with a first-hand overview of the law enforcement and community-related functions of the Greenwich Police Department. Instructors for the program are highly trained and experienced Greenwich Police Officers. There is no fee for the nine-week program.
Any Greenwich resident or person employed in Greenwich 18 years of age or older may apply. Greenwich resident applications will receive priority consideration. All applicants must undergo a background inquiry prior to consideration. Applications must be received no later than Friday, April 21, 2023,
Due to the high demand for this class, qualified applicants will be subject to a lottery drawing to determine the class roster. Seating will be limited to 40 persons. The 9-week session will commence on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, and meet once a week from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. (Wednesday & one Monday). Graduation will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.
