[ARCHIVED] Town Hall delayed opening on Tuesday, Feb. 28

Statement from Acting First Selectwoman Lauren Rabin on Town Hall Delayed Opening:

Due to the winter storm warning in effect, Town Hall will have a delayed opening on Tuesday. February 28, 2023.

This is being done out an abundance of caution due to the National Weather Service predicting heavy snow Monday night into Tuesday morning for Southern Connecticut. According to the forecast, heavy snow and some sleet are expected with total snow and sleet accumulations of five to eight inches possible.

Travel could be very difficult during this time and in the interest of the health and safety of Town Employees, Town Hall will open at 10 a.m. on February 28.

During the storm, people should stay off the roads if at all possible. People should also limit their time outside and if they do need to go out they should wear layers of warm clothing and keep an eye out for signs of frostbite and hypothermia.

People also should reduce the risk of a heart attack by avoiding overexertion when shoveling snow and walking in the snow.

Residents should be extra cautious if they do drive during these potentially hazardous conditions and leave extra time if they must travel during the storm. If a warming center is needed, the Margenot Atrium of the Public Safety Complex at 11 Bruce Place will be open for people to come in and charge small electronic devices.

Please contact Ken Borsuk, executive assistant to the first selectman, with any questions at Ken.Borsuk@greenwichct.org.
