PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman
WHEREAS, Pat Sesto has brought a wealth of knowledge and more than 27 years of consultative and regulatory experience to the Town of Greenwich; and
WHEREAS, In 2018, Pat stepped in as Director of Environmental Affairs ensuring a smooth transition between the Conservation Commission and the Inland Wetland and Watercourses departments; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Pat has worked tirelessly for the preservation, protection and enhancement of the natural resources of Greenwich and Fairfield County. In her volunteer and public service roles she has contributed a solutions-oriented approach and a leadership style that is inclusive and respectful; and
WHEREAS, Pat spearheaded committees responsible for drafting the new Open Space Plan and the Strategic Energy Conservation Plan for the Town of Greenwich; and
WHEREAS, Pat mastered the knowledge of how the statutes work, the board's jurisdictional boundaries, and how to protect and enhance wetlands and watercourses for the benefit of the community. She implemented regulations based on sound legal and scientific expertise; and
WHEREAS, Pat was instrumental in negotiating the acquisition of 72 acres of open space within the Converse Brook Preserve and brought the Coastal Resiliency Assessment Plan to the finish line.
NOW, THEREFORE, l, FRED CAMILLO, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do
hereby proclaim November 29, 2022 as
Pat Sesto Day
in the Town of Greenwich and urge all our citizens to join me in applauding Pat’s many years of dedicated service to the Town and in wishing her many more years of health and happiness in her retirement and future endeavors.
