Greetings friends and neighbors

I’d like to wish all our Town employees, volunteers, and residents a very happy Thanksgiving. We have an awful lot to be thankful for here in Town and a lot to look forward to in the coming year. Thanks for all you do, God bless, and enjoy the holiday.

Help Spread Light and Joy this Holiday Season

A dazzling display of Holiday lights will once again illuminate the Greenwich business district, and Cos Cob this season thanks to the Greenwich Community Projects Fund. The effort is all privately funded and we need your support. The Greenwich Community Projects Fund raises money to support community-focused projects in the Town of Greenwich, including the Cos Cob Park 9/11 Memorial, and Greenwich Holiday Lights. Please visit www.gwchavenue.org to donate now.

US Route 1 Bridge Replacement Project Update

Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has provided the Town of Greenwich with an updated timeline for the US Route 1 bridge replacement project over Greenwich Creek. Due to the completion of the final design and the permitting process, there is a 12 month delay for the project. Utility construction is now scheduled for next fall (2023) and major construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2024.

Forgotten: Greenwich in the 1700’s

Partnering with the Horseneck Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Greenwich Library welcomes Missy Wolfe, an avid historical researcher who has spent well over a decade researching and writing about Greenwich History. This popular historian will discuss her new two-volume set, The Great Ledger: Records of the Town of Greenwich.

Refreshments will be available during a meet & greet with Missy (6:30-7:00 pm). Her presentation will start at 7:00 PM, followed by a Q&A. Wolfe will be selling copies of Hidden History of Colonial Greenwich and Insubordinate Spirit by cash or check only.

FIND YOUR BEST FOREVER FRIEND

adopt-a-dog-abbey 01

Meet Abbey: Abbey is a super sweet & playful puppy who would love a home with another dog to romp around with! She's working on potty & crate training and will make a wonderful addition to a family looking for a really loving, happy girl! Abbey can also likely live with cats as long as they're used to having a really friendly doggy pal around. We think Abbey is a lab mix, and she will likely be around 50lb when full grown. Find out more about Abbey and see more pics.

Happy Thanksgiving

Stay safe and all the best,

Fred
