PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman
WHEREAS, Barbara Ormerod-Glynn has provided exceptional leadership at the Greenwich Library for more than twenty years. First, serving as the library’s manager of resources management for three years, then as deputy director for nine years, and for the past eight years as its executive director; and
WHEREAS, Barbara has successfully built a strong and collaborative relationship with Greenwich Library’s Board of Trustees, staff, and Friends organizations; and
WHEREAS, Barbara spearheaded the renewal of the Greenwich Library through the development of a master plan and complete renovation of the Main Library; and
WHEREAS, Barbara has worked tirelessly to bring exceptional service to the people of Greenwich, most notably by ensuring residents without electricity had a place for internet access and power during numerous storms; and
WHEREAS, Barbara has strengthened Greenwich Library’s partnerships with Greenwich nonprofits and Town departments; and
WHEREAS, Barbara will enter a well-earned and active retirement in which she will no doubt apply her talents and abilities to other worthy causes in our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, l, FRED CAMILLO, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do
hereby proclaim Saturday, December 1, 2022 as
Barbara Ormerod-Glynn Day
in the Town of Greenwich and urge all residents to join me in celebrating and in recognizing Barbara’s contributions to our Town and in wishing her well in her retirement and future endeavors.
