[ARCHIVED] Getting to Know Pollinators

Join us for a delightful virtual walk through a local meadow to spy on pollinators. Along the way, Victor DeMasi, a seasoned lepidopterist, will educate you about a variety of pollinator species. Mr. DeMasi is an active member of the Pollinator Pathway in Redding and has made several contributions in the field of butterfly ecology and conservation. You will learn to identify pollinator friendly plant species which can provide a safe haven for pollinators in your own backyard. Getting to know your pollinators will make the future walks through meadows and your own yard more enjoyable and interactive.

The program will cover current threats to pollinators, offer the ways to restore their habitat and boost their population. A great educational experience for all ages.

This presentation will be followed by two exhibits featured at Byram and Cos Cob Libraries. Museum quality specimens will be offered for viewing to the public and students of neighboring schools.
