Update on Westchester Airport Master Plan
The leadership of Greenwich Police, Fire, EMS and Planning & Zoning departments and state Sen. Ryan Fazio, joined me in a meeting regarding Westchester County’s efforts to update the Westchester Airport Master Plan.
During the meeting with County Executive George Latimer and his team, we were assured that the study will not include any expansion of the facility. There will be a review of operations including how to reduce the number of arrivals and departures of private planes to decrease noise and pollution.
Rest assured that we will continue to meet with county staff. We plan to hold a joint community meeting with updates in the coming months.

Parks and Recreation Announces Annual Photo Contest
The Department of Parks and Recreation is excited to announce its 2nd Annual Community Photo Contest, “For the Love of Parks and Recreation” to celebrate National Parks and Recreation month. The contest will continue through July 31, with the winners to be announced in mid-August.
As you know, the Department of Parks and Recreation is an integral part of the Greenwich community, promoting health and wellness, and improving our physical and mental health as well as our overall well-being. During the past two years, we’ve seen a significant increase in demand for our parks and public spaces. As a result, our team has worked diligently to safely maintain these areas.
Community members are invited to show off their photographic talent by submitting up to four photos taken in Greenwich, that express what you love most about our public parks and recreational facilities. Parents/guardians may submit photos taken by minors under 18. Participants do not have to be a resident of Greenwich, but all photos must be taken in Greenwich and must be of Parks and Recreation facilities, programs or events.
Information about contest rules and prizes, and your photos can be submitted online at www.greenwichct.gov/photocontest. Submitted photos may be featured in Greenwich Parks and Recreation marketing materials - online and in print.

Bruce Museum closure extended
The Bruce Museum is extending its closure to the public through August 15. The driveway to the front entrance is now completely torn up and waiting for paving. Unfortunately, the museum has just encountered supply chain problems with paving stones that will delay completion of the work. Landscaping work will continue, as will interior work on the front entrance, bathrooms, and the new classrooms in the Cohen Education Wing, but the museum won’t be able to complete the paving and ensure safe access until mid-August.
