PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman
WHEREAS, Patrick "Zinger" Gordiski started his firefighting career in the Port Chester Fire Department in Brooksville Engine Co. 5 on April 2, 1967. He was hired by the Greenwich Fire Department on July 30, 1972; and
WHEREAS, During his 50-year career Patrick was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on June 12, 1997; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure he has served under every Chief of the Greenwich Fire Department with the exception of Chief Potter. Since the inception of Local 1042 there are only 34 firefighters who he has not worked with; and
WHEREAS, Patrick Gordiski has served the last 12 years on the Greenwich Fire Department with his son Matthew Gordiski; and
WHEREAS, He is an active member of Local 1042 and proudly served as a member of their Honor Guard; and
WHEREAS, After 55 dedicated years to the fire service in both the Port Chester and Greenwich communities, Zinger is planning on traveling and spending more time with his family.
NOW, THEREFORE, l, FRED CAMILLO, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do
hereby proclaim July 29, 2022 as
Lieutenant Patrick "Zinger" Gordiski Day
in the Town of Greenwich and urge all our citizens to join me in celebrating and in recognizing Patrick’s contributions to our Town and in wishing him well in his retirement and future endeavors.
