[ARCHIVED] May 1-7 designated as Greenwich Ride-A-Bike-Week

PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman

WHEREAS, May is our national bicycling month. On May 1 our country celebrates Ride-a-Bike Day and on May 4 Bike & Roll-to-School Day; and

WHEREAS, A Global Cycle Day is celebrated to recognize the significance of cycling as a mode of transportation around the world for over two centuries; and

WHEREASBicycling is widely recognized for its health benefits, versatility, reliability and affordability. WHEREAS, The Town of Greenwich and the First Selectman’s Bicycle Task Force Committee, supported by Pedal Greenwich and a growing number of resident advocates, wish to raise public awareness for safe and fun cycling activities: to go to work, school and other significant destinations and points of interest in our beautiful Town.

NOW, THEREFORE, l, Fred Camillo, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do
hereby proclaim May 1-7, 2022 as

Greenwich Ride-A-Bike-Week
