PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman
WHEREAS, Board of Estimate and Taxation members spend countless volunteer hours on behalf of the Town of Greenwich; and
WHEREAS, Time and effort, have been spent on the proper administration of the financial affairs of the Town including issuance of the annual recommended budget and setting the Town tax mill rate. The Board also acts on requests for additional appropriations, transfers and allotments made during the fiscal year. The Town's Annual Report, Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and Component Unit Financial Report for the Retirement System of the Town of Greenwich also fall under the Board of Estimate and Taxation; and
WHEREAS, Andreas “Andy” Duus III moved to Greenwich 41 years ago. He has served four years on the Board of Estimate and Taxation and was a member of the Audit Committee, Investment Advisory Committee (as a member and as Chair), and Budget Committee, and was the liaison to The Nathaniel Witherell and Retirement (OPEB) Boards. Prior to his service on the Board Andy served on the Greenwich Representative Town Meeting from District 5 for two years. He has also served in multiple capacities on the Riverside Yacht Club, Harbor Point Association and the Greenwich League of Women Voters; and
WHEREAS, Andy is a graduate of Duke University and received a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University. He has a background in corporate finance; and
WHEREAS, Andy is leaving the Board of Estimate and Taxation.
NOW, THEREFORE, l, Fred Camillo, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do
hereby proclaim Tuesday, December 21, 2021 as
Andreas "Andy" Duus Day
in the Town of Greenwich and encourage all our citizens to join me in recognizing his years of dedicated service to our community.
