PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman
WHEREAS, Board of Estimate and Taxation members spend countless volunteer hours on behalf of the Town of Greenwich; and
WHEREAS, Time and effort, have been spent on the proper administration of the financial affairs of the Town including issuance of the annual recommended budget and setting the Town tax mill rate. The Board also acts on requests for additional appropriations, transfers and allotments made during the fiscal year. The Town's Annual Report, Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and Component Unit Financial Report for the Retirement System of the Town of Greenwich also fall under the Board of Estimate and Taxation; and
WHEREAS, Debra Hess moved to Greenwich 13 years ago. She has served four years on the Board of Estimate and Taxation on the Audit Committee and Budget Committee, and was liaison to Education, the Town’s Cybersecurity task force and the School Lunch Fund. Prior to her service on the Board, she served on the International School at Dundee Parent Teacher Association as Chairperson and Vice-President of Fundraising and as Secretary, and the Victoria Association as treasurer and president; and
WHEREAS, Debra is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and New York University Stern School of Business. She is a former Chief Financial Officer and has served on for-profit and non-profit boards; and
WHEREAS, Debra is leaving the Board of Estimate and Taxation.
NOW, THEREFORE, l, Fred Camillo, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do
hereby proclaim Monday, December 20, 2021 as
Debra Hess Day
in the Town of Greenwich and encourage all our citizens to join me in recognizing her years of dedicated service to our community.
