PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman
WHEREAS, Thomas J. Byrne, a graduate of Yale University and Stanford Law School, moved to Greenwich in 1984 with his wife Megan, and together they raised their four children, Joseph, Daniel, Michael and Kristina in Old Greenwich; and
WHEREAS, Tom first joined the Representative Town Meeting in January 1988 as a delegate to the Education Committee and went on to serve three terms as the chair of District 6; and
WHEREAS, In January 1996 Tom was elected to serve as the sixth Moderator of the Greenwich RTM; and
WHEREAS, After 26 years, Tom holds the distinction of being the longest serving Moderator in the history of the Greenwich RTM and during his tenure he has never missed a meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, l, Fred Camillo, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do
hereby proclaim Thursday, December 16, 2021 as
Thomas J. Byrne Day
in the Town of Greenwich and urge all our citizens to join me in congratulating Tom on an outstanding career and for her dedication and service to the Town of Greenwich.
