Parks and Recreation Seeking Proposals for a Sailing School and Boat Rental Operator

The Department of Parks and Recreation is excited to announce that we are

accepting proposals for RFP 7667: Sailing School and Boat Rental Operator.

Through this request for proposal (RFP), the Town is seeking a vendor to provide

sailing school instructional programming that serves the Greenwich community.

For over two decades, through partnership with a third party vendor, a

community sailing program has been an important service based at Greenwich

Point Park. In 2019, the Department contracted directly with Longshore Sailing

School Inc. to maintain the Greenwich Community Sailing operation. That

contract expired on September 30th, 2021, and following standard Town

purchasing protocols, we published this public request for proposals to secure a

new 5-year agreement.

“The events of the past two weeks have been unfortunate; however, the

Department has every intention of maintaining a community sailing program at

Greenwich Point. It is an important service in our community,” said Joe Siciliano,

Director of Parks and Recreation.

The school is located at the Town’s Chimes Building in the Greenwich Point

Park. The Department seeks a vendor and would like the school to provide

instructional opportunities from beginner to advanced levels and should have

programs targeted at both youth and adult. In addition, the vender may provide

rental boat opportunities at Greenwich Point.

All interested parties are encouraged to review the RFP, which can be found on

the Town website at Proposals are due

by 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 14, 2021.

This is an opportunity to provide a popular and important service to the

Greenwich community. Per the RFP, interested vendors should feel empowered

to submit alternate or additional service proposals that help accomplish the

Town’s stated goals. We hope that the Greenwich community will help us spread

to word to all possible bidders. All service providers, previous and new, are

welcome and encouraged to submit their proposal.

Questions about 7667 should be directed to the Purchasing Department at  Questions about this press release should be

directed to the Director of Parks and Recreation.
