Greetings Greenwich friends and neighbors.

COVID update

Today, Greenwich Hospital started the day treating 8 COVID-positive patients, one of whom is in the intensive care unit and 7 of the 8 are not vaccinated. System-wide, they are treating 133 patients.

Unfortunately, the number of residents who have died from COVID has risen for the first time in 15 weeks. This past week, the total increased to 90 residents who have died from the virus.

Vaccine and testing information:

Locations of vaccine providers and how to contact them can be found here.

The Family Health Division of the Health Department can provide assistance for homebound residents who still need the vaccine.  Residents need to contact their physician to request that a doctor’s order for a vaccine is forwarded to the Health Department. Doctors can contact the Family Health Division by calling 203-622-6495.

Testing information:

  • Greenwich Hospital and the Yale New Haven Health system can be found here.

Greenwich High School Fields Remediation Project UPDATE

Removal of soil and excavation work is complete for Phase II of the Greenwich High School Fields Remediation Project and we are moving into the next phase which is to rebuild Field 4. With school starting soon we ask the public to respect the work area near Field 5. The contractor will be looking out for everyone’s safety, so please stay away from the construction zone and be vigilant of any signs, fences, or cones in the area. The Town of Greenwich Department of Public Works and Greenwich Public Schools are working in collaboration to address the environmental concerns pertaining to the fields at Greenwich High School.  To learn about this project and for progress updates, click HERE.

Pemberwick Road UPDATE

The Pemberwick Road Retaining Wall Reconstruction and Guiderail Improvements Project is running on schedule and was scheduled to reopen today, Friday, August 28. Although Pemberwick Road will be open to the public, there will be periodic times where daytime road closures will occur in order to completely finish the project. The road reopening and project completion is dependent on weather and any unforeseen complications. For more information about this project, click HERE.
