Town of Greenwich hires Parking Services consultant

GREENWICH, CT –  The Town of Greenwich has engaged an independent parking management consultant to review Town Parking Services operations.

The Chicago-based firm of SP Plus Corporation was the successful bidder selected by a seven-member project team that included First Selectman Peter J. Tesei and Town Administrator Ben Branyan. “It was determined that SP Plus presented a creative, cost-effective solution that is in the best interest of the Town,” said First Selectman Peter J. Tesei.

The SP Plus team, led by Vice President for Municipal Services Robert Kamper, have initiated the project with Town Administration, Parking Services staff and stakeholders. The team is reviewing current operations, processes, policies and staff assignments to inform the development of an updated, efficient plan of operations, and to assist with the implementation of upgraded technology and equipment to enhance services. This plan will build upon the process improvements implemented earlier this year and ensure maximum customer service and departmental functionality.

SP Plus manages more than 1 million parking spaces in more than 4,200 facilities throughout the United States including the cities of Chicago, Annapolis, Denver, Atlanta and New Orleans. SP Plus was highlighted in the 2018 United States Conference of Mayors Business Council Best Practice Report: Mayors and Businesses Driving Economic Growth which showcased its innovative public/private partnership that inspired growth and efficiencies and enhanced customer service for the City of Portland, OR.

The cost of the first year of the contract is $92,500 and may be renewed annually for a total contract life of five years.
