April 30 designated as Penny Lore Day

PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman 

WHEREAS, Penny Lore has served as Executive Director of Parsonage Cottage Senior Residence for twenty years since April 9, 2001; and

WHEREAS, Parsonage Cottage Senior Residence, established in March 1977 as a 40-bed senior home, provides a safe, caring environment in a congregate setting that promotes and ensures the happiness, comfort and well-being of its residents and continues to be a priceless resource for the seniors in our community who wish to remain in Greenwich; and

WHEREAS, Penny Lore and her exemplary staff are dedicated to providing outstanding care for the adult residents at Parsonage, notably Tamara Smith, who has been at Parsonage since February 19, 1997. Additionally, Penny ensures that Parsonage Cottage and its residents are connected to the Greenwich Community through extra-curricular activities, productive relationships, and the establishment of community partnerships; and

WHEREAS, Penny Lore treats every resident like they are a member of her own family and she is always thinking of creative ways to improve their quality of life and keeping the amenities at Parsonage updated; and

WHEREAS, Penny Lore works collaboratively with the Parsonage Cottage Board of Directors and the Parsonage Cottage Fundraising Board to ensure the needs of the residents are always met and supported; and

WHEREAS, Parsonage Cottage is a part of Greenwich Communities, and represents the Town of Greenwich's continuing progress towards allowing all people to live with dignity and respect, blending into the place they call home.

hereby proclaim April 30, 2021 as

Penny Lore Day

in the Town of Greenwich and urge every resident to take this opportunity to honor her for her service to older adults and to our community and celebrate her lasting accomplishments and contributions.
