CANCELED: Greenwich Communities Strickland Road Public Forum

Tuesday, February 13, 2024

6:00 PM Town Hall Meeting Room & Zoom: Join a public discussion about the proposed project on Strickland Road by the Cos Cob Metro North train station on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

A message from?First Selectman Fred Camillo

There are a lot of questions out there and a lot of misinformation about the proposed Greenwich Communities project for Strickland Road by the Cos Cob Train Station. Nothing has been approved on this project yet and Greenwich Communities will be bringing information about it directly to the public at a community forum here in Town Hall on Feb. 13.

The forum will begin at 6 p.m. in the Town Hall Meeting Room and while this is not a Town of Greenwich event, I will be speaking briefly at the meeting and then listening like the rest of you as Greenwich Communities gets more information out to the public. We have heard from many in the public with concerns about the potential impact on traffic and density in Cos Cob and I hope people can come and listen to the presentation as well as present their concerns and questions.

Greenwich Communities has done an excellent job adding to our housing stock in ways that enhance neighborhood character. The more they can accomplish the closer we get to the mandates of the State’s 8-30g law and push back against the proposed huge developments that we are all against.

Members of Greenwich Communities will lead this community forum to explain what the project is and what it can accomplish and hopefully dispel some of the misinformation about this proposal. For those who cannot attend in person, the zoom link is below, but I hope people who have questions come in person to get some more information on Tuesday.
