Fairfield County suffers from the highest level of ozone in the New York City metro-area, according to the American Lung Association’s. Ozone, commonly known as smog, is a hazardous gas formed by combustion byproducts. Unhealthy air is driven by emissions from power plants and extreme heat as a result of climate change, placing our health and lives at risk.
