Employee Assistance Program

The Town of Greenwich is committed to preserving the well being of our human resources. The town recognizes that a wide range of issues not always directly associated with one's job function can affect an employees' job performance. Through early intervention many such issues can be resolved and the impact on job performance and general health minimized.

About the Program

To that end the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) has been established to provide professional expertise to employees and their immediate family members when dealing with problems of a personal nature. It is available to all municipal employees (Town and Board of Education) and their families. The program provides confidential and professional consultation for a wide range of personal problems including, but not limited to:

  • Alcohol and/or drug abuse
  • Family problems
  • Financial and legal issues
  • Grief counseling
  • Marital issues
  • Stress

The Employee Assistance Program is administered by Behavioral Health Consultants (BHC). The program is free of charge and offers assessment and short-term counseling, as well as referral and treatment coordination. An employee or immediate family member may contact the EAP 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 800-864-2742.
