Music, Art and Dance is a co-ed summer program held for five weeks at the Greenwich Public Schools. The Music and Art Sections are for those going into grades 4 through 9 (completed grades 3 through 8). The Dance section is for those going into grades 4 through 6 (completed grades 3 through 5).
Music sections are offered in the morning from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and includes daily orchestra and band rehearsals. There is also time for fun games and sports, such as the ever-popular Wall Ball! There will be three informal laboratory programs on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 12 noon where groups and soloists perform for each other as a learning experience. All students attend these programs; parents and friends are invited as well.
An art section is offered from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, or students may enroll in an afternoon art section from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. only if they are enrolled in morning music. Art activities will include pen and ink, watercolors, oils, linoleum block, paper mache, tie dye, etc.
The dance section is held from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. and is only available to those who are enrolled in morning music or morning art. The dance program is designed for dancers of all levels and will include various styles of dance.
