Treasurer Responsibilities

The Town Treasurer is responsible for management of the Town’s cash and short term investments. This encompasses collection, deposit, investment and disbursement of such funds.  This position serves as custodian of Town liquidities; maintaining banking relationships; administering bank and other institutional accounts.


The Treasurer is the Trustee of the Other Post Retirement Benefit Trust and works with the OPEB Trust Board in the investment of the Trust’s assets, providing analysis on mutual funds and ETF under consideration by the Board, and in preparing analytical reports on the performance of the Trust.


The Treasurer reports to the Comptroller with appointment by the Board of Estimate and Taxation.

Investment Policies & Guidelines

Investment policies and guidelines are established as permitted by Section 7-401 and 7-402 of the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut and the policy resolution concerning cash management approved by the Board of Estimate and Taxation.
