Every Thursday, 10:00 am-1:50 pm, by appointment only.

Only Greenwich residents or persons requiring fingerprinting for conditions of employment in the Town of Greenwich are eligible for fingerprinting with proper identification.

Winter Weather Policy: Fingerprinting is CANCELED when Greenwich Public Schools are CLOSED or have a DELAYED OPENING or EARLY DISMISSAL due to inclement weather.

If you have questions or need to cancel your fingerprint appointment, please call 203-622-8024 between 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.  No Walk-Ins will be permitted.  Please do not bring pets or small children.  Service animals are permitted.  

COVID-19 Related Information

Anyone with a fever or other signs of illness will be asked to leave. The fingerprint station will be disinfected after each use, and the Officers will change their gloves between applicants.  

No public restrooms will be available. 

Due to the nature of the fingerprinting process, the Greenwich Police Department cannot guarantee that the public's ink and/or surfaces required to be touched for fingerprinting will be free of any disease, including COVID-19.

Note Regarding Fingerprints for Pistol Permits

For questions about obtaining a Temporary Connecticut Pistol Permit, contact 203-622-8011.

If fingerprinting is for a Temporary State of Connecticut Pistol Permit, you must present a valid State of Connecticut identification card or driver's license.  The ID card or license must have a Greenwich, CT, address listed.

Only Greenwich residents can be fingerprinted at the Greenwich Police Department for a State of Connecticut Pistol Permit. 

If you do not reside in Greenwich and want a Pistol Permit, you must respond to the police authority where you reside.

If you have an Out of State Pistol Permit and want a Connecticut Permit, you need to contact the State of Connecticut, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection Division of State Police, Special Licensing and Firearms Unit for that application.  They can be reached at (860) 685-8290.   The Greenwich Police Department does not handle these requests.

Upon entering the front lobby, go to one of the open Customer Service windows for General Services for assistance. 

Only two fingerprint cards per person per appointment time will be allowed.

PLEASE MOISTURIZE YOUR HANDS FOR SEVERAL DAYS BEFORE FINGERPRINTING.

You must present a current valid Photo Identification to be fingerprinted.

If fingerprinting is for employment in the Town of Greenwich, a letter from the business indicating your employment and purposes of the fingerprinting and fingerprint cards supplied by the employer are required.

The cost of fingerprinting will be $10 per service.  If you need to be fingerprinted more than once, you will be charged an additional $5 per service. The accepted forms of payment are cash, check, or credit card. Please make your check payable to the "Town of Greenwich." Please provide a photo identification: driver’s license or passport.
