The Professional Standards Division

The Professional Standards Division is under the command of the Deputy Chief of Police, who is assisted by a Lieutenant, who serves as the Executive Officer. The Division includes the Community Impact Section and the Training Section.


The Professionals Standards Division also oversees the selection process for entry level and lateral police applicants; the Annual Performance Evaluation of all police employees; the promotional exams for the rank of Sergeant and Lieutenant; the selection process for internal premium Pay Positions; the ongoing Accreditation process; updates to the Department's Unified Policy Manual (UPM); as well as all use of force investigations, civilian complaints and internal affairs investigations.
