Coyote (Canis latrans) did not originally occur in Connecticut, but since the last 100 years have expanded their range throughout the entire state and are now a part of Connecticut’s ecosystem. The coyote is one wildlife species that has adapted to human-disturbed environments and can thrive in close proximity to populated areas. Greenwich is full of wildlife and it's important to remain vigilant when it comes to coyotes.
The Mianus Pond Dam located on the Mianus River just north of Post Road was constructed in 1926 and is the first impediment to migratory diadromous fishes as they enter the river.
