Permit Requirements for Dumping at Holly Hill Facility
All residential vehicles entering the Holly Hill Facility must have and properly display a Holly Hill Permit.
Residents can bring their trash, garbage, refuse, yard debris, and recyclables to Holly Hill, or hire a private collector to pick up the trash at home. To find the name of a licensed collector in your area, use this list of licensed collectors (PDF).
Town of Greenwich strives to be environmentally friendly and offers an array of recycling opportunities for residents to take advantage of. Click here to learn more about recycling at Holly Hill Resource Recovery Facility.

Food Scrap Recycling:
In partnership with Waste Free Greenwich, Greenwich Recycling Advisory Board and Greenwich Green & Clean, the Town initiated a voluntary, drop-off food scrap recycling program in June 2020. Food scraps are one of the largest components of our waste stream, and composting this material directs nutrients and carbon into the ground to increase soil health, reduces reliance on fertilizers and improves water and nutrient retention. In just its first year, the program diverted over 36 tons, or 72,820 lbs of food scraps from incineration. For further information on program guidelines and procedures, please Click Here.
